SNOEKS AUTOMOTIVE ANNOUNCES AUTOMATED INSTALLATION KIT FILLING SYSTEM TO ENABLE FAST AND ACCURATE BOX FILLING.

Automated system ensures each installation kit is filled with the correct parts, eliminating manual counting and improving accuracy and efficiency in the assembly process.

Context
Snoeks Automotive introduces an automated installation kit filling system designed to streamline and improve the preparation of assembly kits. The solution automatically fills boxes with the correct parts for each installation set, reducing reliance on manual counting and handling. By automating this step, efficiency, accuracy, and throughput are significantly improved.

The Problem
Currently, our operators face three key challenges: First, the accuracy of the process, where manual kit assembly carries a risk of human error, leading to incorrect or incomplete sets. Second, the lack of ease, as operators must perform multiple manual steps to collect and assemble all components for each installation kit. Third, limited process consistency and repeatability, meaning output can vary between operators, making it difficult to ensure the same workflow and quality every time.

The Solution
The solution we made gives insight of the possibility of automating the installation kits for the Czech branch of the company. it shows that the system works using 3 types of filling mechanisms, a bolt hopper powered by cam shaft, a rotating disk for the feeding of the washers and a cobot for the other parts that have to be added to the kits. It gives the company a well businesscase to invest in automation further.

How the product works
Using the HMI, the customer has to put in the correct part in the correct square, link the part to the correct bin it is laying in and turn on the machine. the machine converts it to X- Hopper should activate in Y- place of the box X- amount of times.

Costumer Quote
“The main benefit was the students’ exploration of various sorting methods and their demonstration of the robotic arm’s capabilities. The delivered 3D models and prototype elements provide a solid starting point that we can now analyse and adapt. Ultimately, the collaboration gave our company a concrete foundation to build upon.” - Pešková, Karolína
